  • Catahoula Lake is a 30,000 acre wetland that winters over 500,000 waterfowl. It host one of the largest concentrations of pintails and canvasbacks in North America!

    The Catahoula Lake blinds will accommodate three or four hunters with a guide. Morning hunts begin 30 minutes prior to shooting hours and end at 12:00 P.M. Some days the guide will recommend waiting for the 'afternoon flight'. Large flocks of mallards and pintails come onto the lake during the afternoon.(11pm-2pm) on blue bird days. All hunts will end upon reaching legal limits. In the event of inclement weather or water conditions, guide may cancel hunting for safety reasons. (Refund or reschedule depending on situation)

    Travel to and from all blinds will be provided. Retrievers and Duck Decoys will be provided. (Clients are welcome to bring 'working retrievers' just make plans in advance.) Guides will call ducks and geese, but help is always appreciated. GUIDES will call ALL shots. Hunters are to provide gun, shotgun shells, clothing to accommodate weather conditions or changes, and hotel/motel accommodations as well. Clients are to bring own snacks and drinks. The waterfowl season is as follows: November 23-Dec 8th Dec 14th-Jan 26th !!!!
    Price is $150 per gun, 2 person minimum per day. No minimum on number of days booked. Discount for youth. 12-16 $100 Hunts are to be paid in full before leaving the boat landing. A 50% deposit is required to book a date.

    Tips for the guide are not mandatory but greatly appreciated.
