    There is an open tournament every Thursday night on the Jourdan River. It launches at the Diamondhead Yacht Club. Tournament hours are 5-830pm. $20 dollar entry fee per boat with optional $5 big bass fee per boat.

    hello i am new to the area. i just recently moved from south louisiana. I moved to hattiesburg ms. i am having withdrawls and want to get in some saltwater and go catch some fish. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    There are several piers to fish from along the coast and it's pretty good this time of year. You'll catch a few specks, reds, drum, ground mullet and white trout.

    If you have a boat, Cat Island and Horn Island are usually good spots to start.

    Caught some fish this weekend fishing shallow flats around schooling fish. Water temps are running in the low to mid 50's with lots of bait shallow. Caught them on a Gideon 1.5 squarebill in Big Nasty color including this one close to 6# caught by my Dad. Most were on shallow flats or points…
