Great deer, Larry. Man, I'm jealous. I've yet to see a deer, yet. You told me it scored about 115, right?

yes, i scored it on the Boone and Crocket web sight at 114 6/8 but it has 7 4/8 of deductions so it came up to 107 2/8 after the deductions. 'I like the Buck Master scoring better' it came out to 117 5/8 on it...
    Guess I did it right?

That's a great deer. I figured it would have scored higher because of the mass.

I sat down with a buddy of mine that has scored a few and measurered it. I didn't do it right the first time but not much of a diff.. The Gross is 117 6/8 but has 8 3/8 of deductions. So the Final Score is 109 3/8 B/C. Still a good one for me. I seen one 'BIGGER' than this one a few days before running a doe but couldn't get a shot on it. It was better that this one for sure. In this one spot that I have found me and little Larry has seen 8 diff rack bucks.

It's amazing what it takes for a deer to score well. That's why a deer that hits 140 is so impressive. Clock's ticking: You need to get Little L on a nice buck.

I am more impressed with the body size. I am still trying to break the 200# mark.

very good buck regardless,of score.i keep telling my sons that what a buck scores and what you think it will score are not necessarily, close.they have learned now since,i have put the tape to some of them.

The biggest buck I've killed is about 190 pounds, and it look huge. A 200 pounder is just masive.

    Plenty of backstrap!

yes, your right... the biggest body deer that i have taken is about 170. so this could have been a small 6pt and that would have been fine with me. don't know if i will ever take another one over 200??

You're hunting in the right place for big deer (both in terms of body size and antlers), Larry. That delta pushes has all the ingredients.

Be sure you got all the credit for circ. scores as that is the most missed part of scoring for B&C. You get all of the circ. scores regardless if it is and 6, 8, or 10. People sometimes short change thereselves on that. I did for years.

your were right. i didn't take all of the circ... but it only added a few. Gross is now 120 4/8. but all of that don't matter. it's the body that has me... i did a skull mount and it came out ok. if he would have been wider i would have mounted him.

The new rack adds a nice accent to your display, Larry.

i almost made that mistake European mounting my deer but ima just go through with the regular mount, i might not get another one like it, 11 point

Just got the report on this deer... It was 6 1/2 yrs old... man that is an old buck... not many deer where i come form get to be that old.

That's definitely a mature deer, Larry. Not many hunters have the chance to take a deer that old. The great thing is that by that age a buck is pretty much what it's going to be, rack wise.

I know you know this alreayd, but good kill.
