I got this 9 pointer this weekend, it has a 19' outside spread. It was the firs of four bucks that I saw. It wasn't the biggest of the bunch but I couldn't get a safe shot at the others. I got the buck out by Bogue Chitto NWR. on some private land.
I used the wife's sewing tape and the B&C score web site and got 137 6/8. This is by no means an official score. It is just what I came up with doing it myself. it had 11 3/8 deductions. but I am new at the whole scoring thing so I don't know how accurate I am.
After watching some videos on you tube, and talking to a friend of mine that has more experience than I do I realized that I didn't score it right. after making the corrections it scored 143 4/8 with 6 2/8 in deductions. This is a rough score. I am trying to find someone in my area that can give me a more accurate score.
Every summer in Mississippi they have scoreing sessions for the Magnolia Records. You buck should make the minimium score which is I think 125 Net. There aren't any scheduled yet but they will start scheduling them in the spring.
143 sounds about right. It's a beautiful buck, and as Mike says you can get an official score at one of the summer scoring events. If you take the deer to the big one at the Extravaganza, be sure and stop by our booth: We'll be there, and I'd love to spend some time talking with you and get a photo of you and the buck mount.
